ARTISTS ON DESIGN TEAM OPPORTUNITY – CONFEDERATION EAST/WEST EXTENSIONS

OTTAWA, CANADA

Summary: OTTAWA, CANADA opens up the city to artists’ teams across the world – to submit their qualifications for consideration to the first stage of competition to join the Ottawa Light Rail Transit (OLRT) Stage 2 Design Team to realize their ideas for public art in station sites across the city.

Budget: $6.36 million CAD

Little Stacy Neighborhood Park

Austin, Texas

Summary: The City of Austin Art in Public Places (AIPP) program of the Cultural Arts Division, Economic Development Department (EDD) seeks to commission a professional visual artist, or artist team, to design and fabricate mosaic artwork for the Little Stacy Neighborhood Park located at 1500 Alameda Drive, Austin, TX 78704.

Budget: $38,000

Asian American Resource Center

Austin, Texas

Summary: The goal of the AARC Exhibits Program is to both promote the creative endeavors of Asian American Pacific Islander artists and showcase artists who celebrate the community, its dynamic heritage, and contemporary identity through artistic subject matter. AARC officials encourage both emerging and established artists of all disciplines to apply.

There are multiple exhibit spaces at the site, including a lively ballroom, foyer, display cases, and exhibit halls looking out to a beautiful Zen Garden.

Public Art Markers

Marshall, North Carolina

Summary: The Madison County Arts Council, the Town of Marshall, Madison County Government, the Marshall Downtown Association and the North Carolina Arts Council are seeking qualifications from artists or artist teams to design a system of visual art markers to connect the arts and cultural assets from downtown Marshall’s Main Street (The Marshall Mile) across the French Broad river to Blannahassett Island.

Three artists will be selected to visit Marshall and interview. The selected artist will return to meet with the community and key stakeholders and create a proposal.

The proposed art markers can include sculpture, gateways, light pole attachments, interactive pieces, mosaics, sidewalk or wall inlays, murals and light installations. Marker designs can be from a variety of mediums or a combination of mediums.

Budget: $60,000

Design Collaboration – Courthouse Square Outdoor Event Space

Morganton, North Carolina

Summary: The City of Morganton Main Street Department, the Burke County Arts Council and the North Carolina Arts Council are seeking qualifications from artists or artist teams to work directly with landscape architects, architects and designers in the creation of a new, outdoor multi-purpose event space in downtown Morganton.

The City of Morganton is currently interviewing architectural teams for this space and is interested in engaging an artist(s) to integrate public art and artistic elements in the building plans. This space will be connected to the most iconic building and green space in the County, the Historic Burke County Courthouse and Square.

Budget: $20,000

Emerald Loop Vision Plan

Greenville, NC

Summary: The City of Greenville, the Pitt County Arts Council (PCAC), Uptown Greenville, and the North Carolina Arts Council are seeking qualifications from professional artists or artist teams to create a vision plan for the Emerald Loop, a new urban trail in downtown Greenville, NC

Budget: The total amount to be paid to the artist is $60,000, inclusive of the research and engagement process; preliminary reviews of draft plan; public presentations of plan draft; artist travel and final documents (digital and presentation format).

Art on the Commons

Lakewood, Colorado

Summary: You are invited to submit an existing/completed sculpture for Lakewood’s Art on the Commons outdoor, rotating sculpture exhibit

Budget: Artists whose sculptures are selected for this exhibit will receive a $600 honorarium and will be eligible for the purchase award from the Alameda Connects, the Alameda Corridor Business Improvement District. Sculptures will be installed in late May 2019 and will remain on display for one calendar year. With an additional People’s Choice Award of $500 for one of the selected sculptures!

Special Notes: There is a $20 entry fee for this call

Sculpture must be a minimum of 36 inches in height with Maximun base/footprint dimensions of 34 x 34 or 30″ x 46″. Maxium height is 15′.
