Texas Tech University – Womble Basketball Center

Summary: The Texas Tech University System seeks to commission a professional artist to create site-specific murals to be placed on the exterior of the new Dustin R. Womble Basketball Center, located on the Texas Tech University campus in Lubbock, TX. Construction of the facility will be completed by August 2020.

North Avenue Median Sculpture Project- Phase I (RFQ)
Baltimore, Maryland
Summary: The Baltimore Office of Promotion & The Arts in partnership with the Municipal Art Society of Baltimore City, Charles North Community Association and the Baltimore City Department of Transportation, offer artists and designers a unique opportunity to design and exhibit new outdoor sculpture along the medians of Baltimore’s North Avenue, between Maryland and St. Paul streets. Artist’s and Artist teams are invited to submit their qualifications and interest to this unique opportunity.

TEMPO 2019–Deadline Extended
Austin, Texas
Summary: The City of Austin’s Art in Public Places (AIPP) program of the Cultural Arts Division, Economic Development Department, seeks proposals from professional visual artists or artist teams to design, fabricate, install and de-install short-term or time-based exterior artworks in City-owned sites within Austin Public Library Department property.
For the third year, the TEMPO 2019 program will culminate in a temporary public art festival, which will be a registered group exhibition during East Austin Studio Tour in November. The ‘TEMPO Convergence’ festival is will be located in Edward Rendon Sr. Park, located along Ladybird Lake just east of I-35.

Call for Design Concepts: Interior Sculptural Lighting for Druid Hill Park’s Reptile House

Summary: The Baltimore Office of Promotion & The Arts in partnership with Baltimore City Recreation & Parks is accepting qualifications from professional artists or teams of artists in response to a public art opportunity for Baltimore’s new Cahill Community Recreation Center in Gwynns Falls/Leakin Park.

Peru State College | Performing Arts Center
Omaha, Nebraska
Summary: Originally constructed in 1921, the Peru State College theatre houses a large auditorium with a balcony. The renovation, soon to open its doors as the Performing Arts Center, includes a new main floor and second floor lobby, workshops and dressing rooms, acoustic and technological updates, and new exterior spaces as a welcoming entrance to the campus and for outdoor events.

Eligibility Requirements: This Request for Qualifications (RFQ) competition is open to professional artists or teams above age 18 from Nebraska, Missouri, Iowa, and Kansas.
Special Notes: Three finalists will present proposals in Peru, NE and receive travel stipends. Proposals should include a concept, design, project calendar and budget.

Interactive Art Call for Artists
Ketchum, Idaho
Summary: The City of Ketchum, Idaho, invites professional artists, architects or designers to apply for a new, long-term interactive sculpture for a site on the City’s Fourth Street Heritage Corridor. The original artwork selected will be displayed on an outdoor pedestal beginning in late fall 2019 and become a permanent part of the city’s art collection.
Budget: $29,000

Eligibility Requirements: This call is open to all artists, including architects and designers. All are encouraged to notify with intent to participate as soon as possible via email to Lisa Enourato at lenourato@ketchumidaho.org.
Special Notes: The sculpture must be interactive in nature, allowing viewers of varying ages to interact with the piece in some way
Examples of interactivity include kinetic elements that allow viewers to alter the sculpture or set it into motion (e.g. levers, wheels, sliding panels); optical devices; elements that allow viewers to create sound;
The interactive sculpture should reflect the theme of the history or character of Ketchum.
The interactive sculpture will be installed on an existing concrete pad measuring: 5’ x 6’ x 18”.
