2023-2024 Liberty MO Downtown Sculpture Walk
Liberty, Missouri
Summary: Twelve sculptures will be selected and will be on display September 2023 – September 2024 in Downtown Liberty, MO. Liberty’s Public Art Sculpture Program is a way to expand a permanent collection of public art by featuring additional pieces that would be on display for a limited period of time. Additional locations for sculptures will be added each year. All work entered must be freestanding and resilient to variant temperatures and outdoor elements as it will be displayed outdoors for long-term public display.
Budget: $2,000 honorarium, $20,000 for purchase piece

Eligibility Requirements: The Liberty Public Art Sculpture Program is open to all artists regardless of location and who are at least 18 years of age.
Special Notes: Selected Artwork must be installed by September 19, 2023 and removed the first week of September 2024. Any sculpture that cannot meet the scheduled installation and de-installation dates may be disqualified and an alternate piece may be chosen

Public Art for the Classic Center Arena – Site 2: Exterior Wall
Athens, Georgia
Summary: The Unified Government of Athens-Clarke County (ACCGov) invites professional artists to submit qualifications for consideration for a public art concept for the Classic Center Arena project in Athens, Georgia. The selected artist(s) will work with stakeholders and government staff to create public art that enhances the visitor experience and complements the selected site. A suitable public art installation will be a two or three-dimensional, two-story, wall-mounted artwork of landmark-scale, viewable from multiple vantage points, for the arena’s exterior wall.
Budget: $70,000

Special Notes: We strongly encourage people of color, women, LGBTQIA+ individuals, people with disabilities, people from working-class backgrounds, and others from historically and currently marginalized communities that are not well represented or misrepresented within our society to apply.
We recognize that many systemic barriers and actions have barred individuals from pursuing and being selected for these sorts of opportunities. As a result, we are committed to fostering equitable inclusion within this space. University of Illinois Art in Architecture at Natural History Building – Globe Sculpture
Champaign-Urbana, Illinois
Summary: The objective for this globe sculpture is to depict on it these four components: weather and storms, continents, mountains and oceans, human society (cities, farmland), and living things (rainforests, animals etc.). The vision is to be able to identify these components when admiring this interior globe sculpture for the Natural History Building at the University of Illinois in Champaign/Urbana.
Because of the nature of the academic activities that take place in the building, the committee is seeking to procure a sculpture of the earth which shall depict and communicate in a realistic, naturalistic, or even abstract way, an aspect of the geological and biologic history.
Budget: $40,000

Logan Library Plaza Sculpture
Logan, Utah
Summary: Logan City is seeking qualifications from artists/artist teams interested in creating a site specific sculpture for the public plaza near the west entrance of the new Logan Library. The desire of Logan City is to commission a sculpture that highlights the library as a place of learning and community and is complementary to the architecture of the new library.
The sculpture will be installed on an 8’ x8’ concrete pad located near the western entrance to the new library. In addition to the sculpture pad, the plaza will include gathering spaces, raised and ground level planters, and pathways connecting the library to the other municipal buildings to the west of the library. The sculpture pad will serve as the focal point of the plaza.
Budget: $30,000 – $40,000

Eligibility Requirements: This call is open to all artists, but preference will be given to artists/artist teams including regional artists residing within 500 miles of Logan. Artists/artist team members must be at least 18 years of age, and legally residing and authorized to work in the United States.
Special Notes: “A Vision Statement that describes the artist’s interest in and ideas for the project.” is part of the entry requirements for this call.
The committee will review application materials and select a list of semi-finalists who will be invited to submit a design proposal to the committee. All semi-finalists will be awarded an honorarium of $500 to help defray the costs of the development of the proposal.

Transit Center Grade Separation and Access Project
Mountain View, California
Summary: The City of Mountain View Visual Arts Committee (VAC) seeks to commission an artist, or team of artists, to design and execute an original work of art(s) for the Transit Center Grade Separation and Access Project.
Staff recommends the budget be divided between the two locations as follows:
- The allocation for the upper concourse area is estimated to be between $100,000 and $150,000.
- The allocation for the undercrossing tunnel and Castro Street Stairwell is estimated to be between $250,000 and $300,000
The expectation is for the art to be installed by the artist following the construction phase of the facility in early to mid-2027.
Budget: $400,000 (up to two art installations)
Deadline: 4/5/23 —Applications will not be accepted after 12:00 noon Pacific, Wednesday, April 5, 2023, and only the first 100 applications will be accepted (whichever comes first).

Eligibility Requirements: This Request for Qualifications is open to all professional and emerging artists residing in California that are over the age of 18. Bay Area artists are encouraged to apply.
Special Notes: Up to six artists will be selected by the VAC and these artists will be asked to develop a design proposal. A Design Honorarium of $1,500 will be paid to each of the semi-finalists upon completion of their design proposal.

Canal Convergence 2023: Request for Temporary Public Art
Scottsdale, Arizona
Summary: Scottsdale Public Art seeks proposals for outdoor, light-based temporary public artworks to be featured in and around the Arizona Canal at the Scottsdale Waterfront in Scottsdale, Arizona. Canal Convergence will be on view for 10 days, from Nov. 3–12, 2023. Some projects may be selected to remain installed for an additional 1–2 months after the Canal Convergence event dates. This year’s central theme is “The Power of Play.”
Canal Convergence takes place primarily at the Scottsdale Waterfront; a 1/3-mile stretch of pedestrian paths, open grass areas, and landscaping surrounded by residences, offices, and restaurants, all along the Arizona Canal between Scottsdale Road and Goldwater Boulevard in Scottsdale, Arizona.
Budget: will accept budgets between $5,000 and $35,000 (USD) per project, with a limited number of larger budgets (up to $45,000 USD) being awarded to new commissions and/or major works of a larger physical scale. The following will be provided by Canal Convergence, and therefore do not need to be included in the proposal budget: heavy equipment (aerial lifts, forklifts), power, security, and installation staff (up to four people per artwork) with basic carpentry skills for installation and deinstallation.

Eligibility Requirements: All local, regional, and international artists, artist teams, architects, designers, and multimedia specialists are invited to submit a proposal. Due to evolving COVID-19 pandemic travel restrictions, international artists who apply must have remote installation as an option for their proposal.

Public Art for the Classic Center Arena – Site 1: Exterior Plaza (SPLOST 2020 Project #3)
Athens, Georgia
Summary: The Unified Government of Athens-Clarke County (ACCGov) invites professional artists to submit qualifications for consideration for a public art concept for the Classic Center Arena project in
Athens, Georgia. The selected artist(s) will work with stakeholders and government staff to create
public art that enhances the visitor experience and complements the selected site. A suitable
public art installation will be a three-dimensional, immersive artwork of landmark-scale, viewable
from multiple vantage points, for the arena’s exterior plaza.
Budget: $200,000 all-inclusive. This means including, but not
limited to, design, materials, fabrication, insurance (Attachment C), engineer’s approval,
travel, installation, and artist’s fees.

from working-class backgrounds, and others from historically and currently marginalized
communities that are not well represented or misrepresented within our society to apply.

2023 Old Town Keller Rotating Sculpture Program
Keller, Texas
Summary: The Keller Public Arts Board is seeking six sculptures that are appropriate for public viewing and support the family friendly atmosphere of the City of Keller. Sculptures remain under the artist’s ownership and are loaned to the exhibit for a two-year period. All sculptures must be “family appropriate” and pose no risk to public safety; no sexual, bloody or violent content shall be accepted.
The Keller Public Arts Board aims to install sculptures that are diverse in style and media. The Board hopes to expose the local community to different types of art, increase tourism and encourage visitors to the Old Town area by providing a dynamic and engaging exhibit.
Sculptures must be made of materials that can withstand the harsh Texas weather and require no maintenance by the City of Keller. Pieces sold while on display may be removed but the artist must replace the sold artwork with a different sculpture, with approval by the Board, within 60 days of removal of the sold piece.
Budget: A $1,500 honorarium shall be awarded for each piece for the installation, exhibition and removal of the artwork for a two-year period. One Best in Show winner shall be awarded an additional $500.

Special Notes: The existing 5’x5’ concrete pads shall be used for display and the City of Keller may provide some assistance with installation and removal of the artwork.

2023 ArtSites
Monument, Colorado
Summary: The Town of Monument now manages the ArtSites program, formerly managed by Tri-Lakes Views. This spring, the Town of Monument is relaunching its annual ArtSites call to artists for approximately 11 outdoor sculptures to be located on pedestals throughout the Monument area. The pieces will be displayed for one year.
Budget: Selected artists will be awarded a $500 stipend for each selected piece.

Fairfax County Public Art Project: Covid-19 Memorial
Fairfax, Virginia
Summary: On behalf of Fairfax County, ArtsFairfax is accepting qualifications from artists or artist teams for a public art project that commemorates the experience of COVID-19 in Fairfax County. The selected artist/team will design, fabricate, and install a permanent work of art that will commemorate the suffering of people in the COVID-19 pandemic as well as the heroism of the people who responded to the emergency.
An existing memorial plaza will be utilized for the placement of a central artwork that commemorates the experience of COVID-19 in Fairfax County.
Budget: The $200,000 artist fee includes design, materials, fabrication, insurance, travel, packing, shipping, installation and a maintenance plan for the artwork.

Eligibility Requirements: This opportunity is open to all artists living and working in the metropolitan corridor encompassing Richmond/Washington/Baltimore who are eligible to work in the United States
Special Notes: Selection Committee will review applications and select finalists. If you are selected for consideration, you may be requested to travel to a location in Fairfax County, VA to present your proposal and a maquette in person to a selection committee. A stipend of $1,000 will be provided to finalists selected to present proposals to cover costs of travel and maquette production.

Illinois State University Arts Complex
Normal, Illinois
Summary: The Art-in-Architecture Program of the Capital Development Board is pleased to announce a Request for Qualifications (RFQ) to Illinois professional artists to create permanent original public art for the Fine Arts Complex at Illinois State University in Normal, Illinois. The college would like to commission two pieces for this project.

Prospectus #271 McKinley County Courthouse – Site-Specific Commission
Gallup, New Mexico
Summary: The Art in Public Places Program of New Mexico Arts and the Local Selection Committee (LSC) of McKinley County seek to commission 1 to 3 artists to create and install original artwork in specified areas of the McKinley County Courthouse Rotunda. These artworks will need to withstand a permanent installation indoors in one or more of the three identified areas within the rotunda. The LSC is interested in artwork of all media (including but not limited to: weaving/fiber, sculpture (all materials), installations, painting, photography, drawing, printmaking, new media, and more) 2D or 3D in nature, representational to abstract in style. Artwork should incorporate a theme of people, place, and culture of McKinley County, capture the spirit of the community, while creating an experience of place: “Culture of Place”.
Budget: $97,825 is available to commission 1 to 4 artists/artist teams to create public artwork for 3 designated areas within the McKinley County courthouse rotunda, after finalist presentation fees.

Holly Park Sculpture
Centennial, Colorado
Summary: The South Suburban Park and Recreation District’s Public Art Committee (PAC) requests proposals for permanent artwork to be placed at South Suburban Park and Recreation District’s (SSPRD) Holly Park. The proposed art 1) should be appropriate for the surrounding family-focused uses; 2) should be an integral part of the site in theme, materials, and scale; 3) should be unique, and be thoughtfully integrated into the existing environment; 4) must meet or exceed standards for structural integrity and durability; 5) must be weather, vandal, and graffiti resistant; 6) and must meet or exceed standards for public safety.
Budget: Up to $25,000 is available for all expenses related to this commission

Glow in the Garden
Wailuku Town, Maui, Hawaii
Summary: Set against the historic backdrop of Wailuku Town, ʻĪao Valley and Mauna Kahālāwai, Will Smith Imua Discovery Garden’s GLOW in the Garden is the region’s only free curated outdoor public light-art experience.
Artists of all ages are invited to submit pre-fabricated work for consideration to be on view for this one-night-only event, which will take place on Saturday, May 27, 2023 from sunset through 9 PM at the IMUA Discovery Garden’s 2023 Butterfly Festival. Artwork must integrate a lighting component and play with the perception of light, which can challenge viewers with what they see and understand from each piece. Light has the power to transform, inspire, and uplift in remarkable ways. It is encouraged that artists incorporate wireless [solar, battery-powered, glow-in-the-dark, etc.] lighting into their piece, or to be prepared to provide a generator to power the required lighting component of each work.
