2050 S Bundy RFQ (4 projects)
Los Angeles, California
Summary: This call for artists will reach out for four different project opportunities on the project site.
The aim for all four artwork opportunities is to create world-class public artwork in a
diverse range of mediums that are designed to engage the community, and showcase the
cultural diversity of the City and enhance the various civic and public spaces.
Each location is different and asks for its own unique mediums utilizing highly imaginative
and forward-thinking approaches. Selected artists and artist teams will be asked to
demonstrate creative applications to support the building and activation of a community
interconnected by its public art.
Budget: $400,000 (total)

Eligibility Requirements: Artists age 18 or older may apply as an individual or as a team. The RFQ is open to all and not restricted to any geographic location
Special Notes: Artwork for 2050 S Bundy is an opportunity to build and shape a cultural landscape. While each opportunity will be curated as a unique space that functions as a stand-alone experience, the art will function together as a campus with a cohesive, overarching vision.

SEA North Main Terminal Project – Baggage Handling System Enclosures
Seattle, Washington
Summary: The Port of Seattle’s Public Art program is seeking one (1) qualified visual artist or artist team to submit their qualifications to be considered for a permanent art commission within Seattle Tacoma International Airport’s North Main Terminal. The work must consider the aesthetic of the facility and redevelopment design. Proposed artworks must also be thoughtful in regard to long term maintenance and conservation. The work must be appropriate for public presentation considering the wide range of visitors to the airport.
Budget: $500,000

SEA North Main Terminal Project – Two Bridge Pop-Up Walls

Summary: The Port of Seattle’s Public Art program is seeking one (1) qualified multidisciplinary artist or artist team to submit their qualifications to be considered for a permanent art commission within Seattle Tacoma International Airport’s North Main Terminal. The Public Art program is not soliciting muralists for this particular opportunity.
The project includes up to two (2) locations in the Main Terminal, Bridge Level/Garage level 4, visible from baggage claim and bridge level.

SEA North Main Terminal Project – Suspended Sculpture
Seattle, Washington
Summary: The Port of Seattle’s Public Art program is seeking one (1) qualified multi-disciplinary visual artist or artist team to submit their qualifications to be considered for a permanent art commission within Seattle Tacoma International Airport’s North Main Terminal.
The project includes one (1) location at the end of Checkpoint 5 in the Main Terminal. Dimensions: 26’10” (w) x 60’(d) x 16’9” (h). The general allowance is no more than 250-300lb per point and the points should be spaced a few feet away from each other.
Budget: $1,000,000

SEA North Main Terminal Project – Two Suspended Sculptures & Two Pop-Up Walls

Summary: The Port of Seattle’s Public Art program is seeking one (1) qualified light/visual artist or artist team to submit their qualifications to be considered for a permanent art commission within Seattle Tacoma International Airport’s North Main Terminal. The Public Art program is not soliciting muralists for this particular opportunity.
The project includes two (2) locations on the bridge/baggage claim level in the Main Terminal. As described in the RFQ, only location 1 includes two (2) bridge pop-up walls visible on each side. Artists are encouraged to use the full potential of this area to create a unique experience for passengers and employees.

Begonia Commemorative Art Project
Capitola, California
Summary: Seeking an artist or artist team to create a piece of art that both welcomes people to the Capitola Village and honors the 65 year history of the Capitola Begonia Festival. The planned project site is the north corner of Stockton Avenue and Wharf Road.
This commemorative project will both honor the history of the Begonia Festival and serve as a
welcoming piece of art visible to many thousands of people annually entering and leaving the
village, both in vehicles as well as on foot.

NextGen Precision Health Public Art Initiative (2 locations)
Columbia, Missouri
Summary: The University of Missouri (MU) System invites artists to apply for public art projects for its Roy Blunt NextGen Precision Health Building. MU seeks artists or artist teams who currently reside in or have lived, studied, or worked in the state of Missouri to create new site-specific art for two spaces on NextGen’s first floor, one with a $50,000 budget, the other with a $40,000 budget. The project is being implemented as part of the NextGen Precision Health Public Art Initiative. At this time, artists should submit qualifications only, not a design proposal. Once finalists are selected, they will be invited to create design proposals and will be paid a stipend that is separate from the commission amounts.
LOCATION #1: First Floor Alcove – general measurements: 53”H x 18’1” W, which will this fill the entire space above the seating area, or 46”H x 18’1” W will allow for art work approximately 7” from top of headrest
LOCATION #2: First Floor Reception/Greeting Area –general dimensions: 10’H x 19’W which would “frame” art under existing signage
Budget: Location #1 $50,000; Location #2 $40,000

Eligibility Requirements: This is an open call to artists 18 years and older who currently reside in or have lived, studied, or worked in the state of Missouri. Applications from all eligible artists, regardless of race, sex, gender, religion, nationality, origin, or disability, are encouraged.
Special Notes: Just as the concept of precision health seeks to personalize treatments for patients, the goal of the planned public art in the NextGen building is to make the space uniquely appealing, interesting, and uplifting for viewers, many of whom are patients, as well as for the more than 200 clinicians, faculty, researchers, and support staff working in the building.

Quincy Veterans Home (5 pieces)
Quincy, Illinois
Summary: Seeking FIVE permanent original public art pieces for the Long-Term Care Facility (LTC) at Quincy Veterans Home in Quincy, Illinois. There are five separate outdoor artwork projects. Artists may apply for as many projects as preferred. Only one portfolio package is required, even if applying for multiple projects.
This project will add a new 261,000-square-foot residential Long-Term Care Facility and a 74,000-square-foot independent living building. Art will be an integral part of the entire campus. In addition to providing beauty to the built environment, artwork will provide a sense of placemaking to create an atmosphere of home and well-being for the entire Quincy Veterans Home community—residents, families, staff, and volunteers.
Budget: $650,000 (total for all 5 projects)

Summary: The City of Austin Art in Public Places program (AIPP) of the Cultural Arts Division, Economic Development Department (EDD) seeks to commission a professional visual artist or artist team to design and fabricate artwork for the Walter E. Long Metro Park at 6620 Blue Bluff Rd, Austin, TX 78724 and the John Treviño, Jr. Metro Park at 9501 FM 969, Austin, TX 78724.
Budget: A single commission of $106,000 will be awarded for an artist or team to create two artworks–one at each park

Pompano Beach Light Pole Enhancement Sculpture
Pompano Beach, Florida
Summary: The City of Pompano Beach is looking to commission an artist or artist team for a work for hire project to design, fabricate, and install an artistic light pole sculpture to be attached to the existing light pole located at the northeast corner of N. Flagler Avenue & NE 1st Street.
The design should emphasize music, art innovation and be fun and surprising. Materials not allowed include plaster, masonry or concrete. The artist will ensure that the design will be code compliant. Artist is responsible to provide engineering evaluation for the proposed light pole attachment and file a permit application.

Airport Playscapes Public Art Opportunity
Austin, Texas
Summary: The City of Austin (Texas) Art in Public Places (AIPP) Program and Austin-Bergstrom International Airport (AUS) invite artists and artist-led teams to submit qualifications to be considered for collaboration, design, fabrication, and installation of a series of up to three playscapes located throughout the airport’s concourse areas. Interested artists should approach the opportunities with an open mind and should not attempt to conceptually propose solutions as the sites are directly related to the Airport Expansion Development Plan AEDP and do not yet exist

Summary: create permanent original public art for the Health Simulation Lab in Douglas Hall at Chicago State University in Chicago, Illinois. The Committee is interested in artwork that explores wellness, well-being, and health within a broader context including economic stability, education access and quality, health care access and quality, the neighborhood and the built environment, and the social and community context.
The Committee does not wish to limit artists. Artists are offered the walls throughout the second floor and the ceiling space above the oval conference room as potential locations for their artwork. The artwork can consist of one piece, multiple pieces, or an installation. The artwork must meet all requirements of the Americans with Disabilities Act and the Illinois Accessibility Code for protruding objects along an accessible route.

Creative Bike Racks
Jackson Hole, Wyoming
Summary: The goal of the artwork is to create inviting bike racks that tie to the theme of Center for the Arts. The design should be both highly-functional and take inspiration from our creative campus. This can include specific art forms such as dance, theatre, music, visual arts, and/or a more general expression of art, creativity, and design. We seek artists or teams of artists to submit designs for one or more custom bike racks that will complement the architecture and express the mission.
Budget: $1000 design award. The final design(s) selected will receive a $1,000 award and permanent name recognition on the final bike rack(s). The artist is responsible for submitting the design proposal but is not responsible for fabrication.

We Shall Rise: Mother Jones Monument
Chicago, Illinois
Summary: DCASE, DWM and MJHP seek to honor the important contributions to labor history of Mother Jones. An Irish immigrant who became a pivotal Chicago-based labor organizer, Mary Harris “Mother” Jones (1837-1930), advocated for global justice, rejected racism against African-Americans, supported the Mexican Revolution, organized women as well as men, and worked for improved living conditions for working families.
The committee will select a minimum of 3 finalists, who will be commissioned to develop public art proposals. Finalists will present their design proposals to the selection committee and a final artist or artist team will be selected.

2023 Cherry Valley Summer Sculpture Trail
Cherry Valley, New York
Summary: Cherry Valley Artworks is pleased to invite submissions for sculptures to be exhibited in the 2023 Cherry Valley Summer Sculpture Trail in beautiful and historic Cherry Valley, N.Y. The exhibit will run from July 3 – October 6, 2023. Both existing and new sculpture may be submitted.
This is the 10th Anniversary of this biannual exhibit. Previous shows have included work from across the US and as far away as Japan and Iran.
Budget: All entrants will be eligible for the Grand Prize award of $1,000 and First Prize of $500.There is no application fee.
