Art on the Corner 2022 Temporary Exhibit

Grand Junction, Colorado

Summary: All artwork must be available for sale to the public. The artwork will be on display for twelve (12) months from the date of installation. Art on the Corner crews will be available on October 7, 2023 to help with the removal of your sculpture.

Budget: All artists who are accepted will receive a $1,000 honorarium. Two nights of lodging will also be provided for accepted artists for Friday, October 7th and Saturday, October 8th, 2022.

Fountainhead Residency Open Call

Miami, Florida

Summary: Visual artists are encouraged to apply for a month-long Fountainhead Residency, which provides roundtrip airfare, living and working accommodations, and a stipend.

Fountainhead was founded in 2008 by collectors and passionate art appreciators Kathryn and Dan Mikesell, who believe connecting people intimately with artists impacts how we move through this world, treat one another and confront today’s most critical issues. They created Fountainhead to positively impact the lives and careers of artists and nurture and grow their local arts ecosystem. Establishing a residency program for visiting national and international artists alongside an artists’ studios complex to serve the local artist community, Fountainhead has served over 480 artists from 47 countries and engages thousands of art lovers each year.

ABSTRACT Expressions

Summary: You can enter all sorts of artistic interpretations, use your imagination, of ABSTRACT Expressions.   All Mediums and Artist are Welcome! Show us how you express your emotions and story through Abstract Art and entering them here so they can inspire and engage the viewer with universal connections.  We welcome all forms of painting and drawing, sculpture and photography, plus fiber arts, digital arts and more. We strive to be inclusive and open to seeing what you present for your entries. We welcome creativity! Have fun!

The Red Bluff Art Gallery supports artist worldwide. Our gallery shows international art and has for more than 14 years. We have sponsored more than 300 exhibitions, including international touring exhibitions. Selected art will be displayed online with our established website, social media and collector contacts. The virtual show of your work, if selected by the jurors, will be connected directly to you for sales. The artist gets 100% of proceeds. Entry fees assist in supporting the Accidental Animal Rescue Center, which provides sanctuary and habitat for many animals.

The Commons: 10 Artists in 10 Spaces

West Palm Beach, Florida

Summary: The City of West Palm Beach’s ArtLife Committee is dedicated to supporting the local creative sector by providing opportunities to create art in the public realm. The Committee will select 10 professional artists who reside in Palm Beach County for The Commons Project (“Project”). Ten multidisciplinary artists will be commissioned to create temporary artworks that engage the community and incorporate “play” as the central theme. It is through play that we experience the world.

Budget: $100,000 (Ten artists to receive up to $10,000 each.)

Rowan University Wilson Hall Dance Program Expansion

Glassboro, New Jersey

Summary: Rowan University is seeking to commission public artwork(s) that will complement the addition’s flex space. The flex space is a room measuring approximately 14’ x 33’, which flows seamlessly into the main lobby. It has centered doorway openings on its north and south walls, each leading to a dance studio. Lockers line the north wall. As the name implies, the space is meant to meet a variety of needs within its footprint. While relatively small in area, the 27’-high ceilings and a glass curtain wall provide a generous, open feel. Click the view site details above.  

Artist finalists will be asked to propose an artwork installation that is suspended within the flex space, or attached to the walls and/or ceiling.  

Budget: The proposed budget for this project is approximately $40,000.

Eligibility Requirements: All applicants must be regionally based residing no more than 150 miles from Rowan University (Glassboro, NJ).  

All applicants must be over the age of 18 to be considered for this opportunity.  

Special Notes: Potential artists will be selected from those who submit expressions of interest (EOI). Shortlisted artists will receive a request for proposal (RFP) to respond with a proposal that outlines their approach and ability to create the project. A stipend of $1000 will be provided to shortlisted artists to offset costs related to proposal preparation.

Call for ILLINOIS Artists: University of Illinois Springfield

Springfield, Illinois

Summary: The Committee is looking for a conceptually-challenging, site-specific installation that flows out from the Library Commons toward the Quad and the rest of the campus. It should accent the directional feeling of the “Gradient Garden” and not compete with the vista to the Colonnade.

Small Town Big Art: 2022

Wailuku, Hawai‘i

Summary: Developed through a 2018 Our Town grant by the National Endowment for the Arts, SMALL TOWN * BIG ART is a creative placemaking collaboration of the County of Maui + Hale Hō‘ike‘ike at the Bailey House/ Maui Historical Society + the newly formed Maui Public Art Corps that is working to develop an arts district celebrating the distinctive sense of place, history and culture of Wailuku, Hawai‘i. Through the support of new grant partnerships, we are expanding this work into additional neighborhoods throughout the County of Maui, which includes the islands of Maui, Lānaʻi, Molokaʻi and Kahoʻolawe.

Eye for Art Sculpture-on-Loan Program

Brighton, Colorado

Summary: The City of Brighton Eye for Art program announces a call for artists for its 2022-2023 Sculpture-on-Loan Program. This year-long sculpture exhibit is held at Carmichael Park located at 650 Southern Street. For the program, five sculptures will be selected

Budget: artists will receive a $500 honorarium at placement. In addition, $1,000 will be awarded for a public-voted “Brighton’s Choice” award, as well as possible purchasing by the public and/or the City. To date, the program has sold eight sculptures located throughout the City.

Deadline: 8/15/22 (Note the deadline was originally July 15th and we posted it last month, so if you already submitted your application you do not need to do so again.)

3D/Sculptural Artwork for Towson University, College of Health Professions

Summary: Towson University (TU), in partnership with the Maryland State Arts Council (MSAC), seeks to commission artists or teams to create permanent public artwork for the new College of Health Professions (CHP) building. The Artist Selection Committee has identified $355,000 to commission three-dimensional, sculptural, or landscape-based artwork created for the College of Health Professions building or exterior landscape
