Palm Beach County Art in Public Places Call for Artists

Summary: Palm Beach County’s Art in Public Places program seeks to commission an Artist or Artist team (Artist) to design, fabricate and install light sculpture screens and gates for Palm Beach County Convention Center Courtyard’s highly visible north and east perimeters. Along with “Wave” by Barbara Grygutis completed in 2009, illuminated sculptural screens and gates will be enjoyed by the Convention Center’s approximate 300,000 annual guests attending meetings, conventions, tradeshows, art fairs, galas and special events. The new signature artwork will be seen and experienced by passersby in approximately 50,000 vehicles daily, in addition to pedestrians travelling between the Convention Center and other landmarks along Okeechobee Boulevard, a main thoroughfare in downtown West Palm Beach, To enhance the Center’s capacity to host diverse events and functions in its Courtyard, sculptures shall be compelling day through evening, and create a sense of seclusion from its surroundings, visually blocking vehicular traffic and limiting public access.

Public Art Project Westeville, OH

Summary: The City of Westerville and the Westerville Parks Foundation are seeking an artist(s) to create a site-specific original artwork as part of the Cleveland Avenue Retail Development, which includes three restaurants/food and drink retailers (BruBurger, Local Cantina, and Starbucks) and potential space for other retail opportunities. The vision for this project is for an original, signature artwork (sculpture) of exceptional quality and enduring value located in public space that serves as a major thoroughfare through the city. The artwork should provide recognizable identity and signature presence for the retail development with a distinctive aesthetic experience highly visible and welcoming to both pedestrians and those travelling in passenger vehicles.

Budget: $7,500
