Happy Valley Road & 83rd Ave, Peoria, Arizona

Summary: The City of Peoria is seeking submittals for its latest public art project at Happy Valley Road and 83rd Avenue (Southwest side of intersection)

Budget: $140,000

Special Notes:

The ideal artist should thrive on the challenge of creating exterior artwork that compliments the environment of the designated location. The artist should also consider the vast view of this location from a distance, both daytime and nighttime.

Proposals should include drawings, model, plus specific information on scale, medium, installation, and complete budget. Semi-finalists are also required to make a presentation of their final proposals. Each semi-finalist will receive a stipend to help compensate for out-of-pocket costs associated with the competition. The stipend can reimburse proposal-related costs such as models, drawings, and travel to Peoria.
One artist will be awarded the project; however, depending on the quality of the submittals, the City reserves the right to select runner’s up from this call for a possible alternate location in the City within the next 12 months.

Special Notes: The ideal artist should thrive on the challenge of creating exterior artwork that compliments the environment of the designated location. The artist should also consider the vast view of this location from a distance, both daytime and nighttime. The height of the piece will be a strong consideration when choosing the final submission. This location has a very high volume of traffic passing it from the Loop 303 and on their way to Lake Pleasant. One artist will be awarded the project; however, depending on the quality of the submittals, the City reserves the right to select runners up from this call for a possible alternate location in the City within the next 12 months.

City of Aurora: Exterior Sculpture for Conservatory Metropolitan District

Summary: The Conservatory Metropolitan District, in Aurora Colorado is seeking an artist to complete an exterior sculptural commission for this unique residential community located within southeastern Aurora. The name “Conservatory” references the nearby Plains Conservation Center and signifies that wildlife and nature are a focus of this community. Birdwatching, hiking, and bike rides are among the outdoor activities commonly enjoyed by the residents.

Budget: $72,000

Eligibility Requirements: This call is open to artists who are legally residing in the USA and who are located in CO and the surrounding states (Wyoming, Nebraska, Kansas, Oklahoma, New Mexico, Arizona, and Utah.)

Montana RTS (El Paso, TX)

Summary: This public art project will commission a total of 1 or 2 artists or artist’s teams to design and develop original artistic designs and/or images to be placed on each RTS station across the length of the corridor.

Budget: $350,000 for 25 stations
