2020 Art Purchase Program
El Paso, TX
Summary: CALL FOR EXISTING ARTWORKS (deadline extended)
The Museums & Cultural Affairs Department is building a public collection of artwork created by El Paso Area artists that recognizes the artistic talent and cultural diversity in El Paso, Texas. The artwork will become part of the City of El Paso Art Collection and will be displayed in City Hall buildings for the benefit and enjoyment of the general public. Low-relief artwork, that does not protrude more than 2 inches from the wall, will also be considered (ceramic, metal, glass, and other materials).

Charlotte Mecklenburg Library Main Library
Charlotte, NC
Summary: The Arts & Science Council is accepting qualifications from artists/artist teams for a public art opportunity at Charlotte Mecklenburg New Main Library in Charlotte, North Carolina.
The selected artist will work with the ASC, the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Library, Mecklenburg County Asset and Facilities Management, architects Clark Nexsen and Snøhetta and the local community to create an impactful artwork that responds to the parameters of the site, the aesthetics of the architecture, and the themes identified by the project team.
The artwork should prioritize the importance of books and literacy while highlighting the library’s mission to improve lives and build a stronger community.

Eligibility Requirements: This call is open to all U.S. professional artists. Artists who have received a commission or purchase for over $25,000 from the Arts & Science Council cannot be considered for another commission or purchase for 3 years after the date of a signed contract or letter of agreement. ASC staff, County or City staff, Public Art Commission members and their immediate families, are not eligible to apply for this project.
Special Notes: The Grand Lobby Wall has been identified as a possible opportunity for artwork placement, and the artist/s will be active in directing the design and preparation of the site.

Summary: EASTERN VIRGINIA MEDICAL SCHOOL is a campus of scientists, researchers, learners, and healers, and Dr. Britt reflects these ideals. The campus aesthetic is modern, clean, collegial and authoritative, and the sculpture should resonate with this brand while showing creativity and imagination. The work should be clean, welcoming, forward-thinking and purposeful. Civic Art Projects within Houston Airports: Portable Works
Houston, TX
Summary: Houston Airports and MOCA are seeking existing artwork from practicing, professional Texas artists (Artists born in Texas and/or residing in Texas), for direct purchase. Artwork that is selected and purchased will be added to the City of Houston Art Collection and will be on permanent display within Houston Airports. Qualifying artworks include small to medium size 3-D works, and medium to large 2-D works are eligible to submit.
Budget: $980,000 (a total of $980,000.00 available for the purchase of 87 works.)

Outdoor Sculpture for Ramapo College of NJ Learning Commons
Mahwah, NJ
Summary: Ramapo College seeks innovative and permanent artwork for one or both of two outdoor spaces north of the new Learning Commons.
The public artwork should be of the magnitude to be highly visible in either of the two spaces in the Learning Commons location. The form could range from dramatic landscape re-arrangement to seating, to the installation of sculpture in either, or both, of the locations indicated on the diagram. This area contains high pedestrian traffic and occasional utility vehicle traffic.

Prospectus #259 Devasthali Hall
Las Cruces, NM
Summary: New Mexico Arts and the Local Selection Committee for Devasthali Hall seek an artist or artist team to create a site-specific commission project to be situated on a landscaped area south and west of Devasthali Hall. Artists are encouraged to explore conceptual designs inspired by the landscape (always sunny in Southern New Mexico; the need for shelter/shade; and transparency and porosity), landscape architecture, environmental art, and placemaking and monumental art. The committee would like a work that creates a sense of place with the potential to serve as an iconic landmark, gateway or signpost to welcome visitors to Devasthali Hall.
Budget: $190,500 is available for the project, this includes finalist presentation fees and travel expenses.

Rowan University- Discovery Hall Stone Installation/Interpretive Space EOI
Glassboro, NJ
Summary: Rowan University is seeking to commission artwork(s) that will be integrated into the design for Discovery Hall. Artist Finalists will be invited to submit a proposal for a permanent, site specific artwork(s) on the exterior landscape of Discovery Hall that functions as an interpretive geological space for students, as well as an inspiring piece of art. Rowan desires this artwork to be a rock garden or other stone installation sculpture that aligns with the vision for Discovery Hall. Artists may submit their interest for creating the artwork, or partner with other artists as a team to propose artwork(s) that represents the programs within the School of Earth and Environment.
