Legler Regional Library Artist in Residence Program

Chicago, Illinois

Summary: The Department of Cultural Affairs and Special Events (DCASE), in partnership with the Chicago Public Library (CPL), seeks artists to participate in the inaugural Legler Regional Library Artist-in-Residence Program. During a two-year residency, an artist will be given studio space at the library to develop public art projects and art programs that utilize the artist’s unique talents to promote greater connectivity between the library, its services, and the needs and aspirations of the local West Garfield Park community.

Budget: In addition to the in-kind use of space at Legler Regional Library, the Artist-in-Residence will be given an annual budget of $50,000.

Beam Center Open Call for big projects

Summary: Beam Center believes that all young people are capable of spectacular things. We’ve been proving it for 17 years in schools across NYC and at Beam Camp, where young people realize large-scale projects designed by world-class architects, artists and engineers.

Each year, Beam has conducted an international search for spectacular project ideas to be built at Beam Camp in New Hampshire. For the first time this year, we are putting out an Open Call for three big ideas for our three locations

Special Notes: Beam Center seeks design proposals for ambitious public artworks that will be brought to life through collaborations between youth and creative big thinkers. Projects will be realized at each of our three 2022 Beam Project sites: in New Hampshire (NH), on Governors Island (GI), and in a local NYC community. Artists are invited to submit proposals for any or all of these three sites. Winning proposals will be selected by a committee composed of Beam Center staff, youth, past project designers, and community members.

RFQ – Large Scale Public Art – Medtronic

Lafayette, Colorado

Summary: The City of Lafayette and Medtronic are pleased to release a Request for Qualifications for Artists related to a new Gateway Public Art piece in Lafayette, Colorado. A global leader in medical technology, Medtronic is constructing a new 42-acre campus in Lafayette, Colorado.

The Advisory Committee has set forth specific goals and parameters for this public art project with the hope of creating a welcoming, inspiring, and unique gateway piece for residents and visitors at Lafayette’s southern gateway.

Budget: approximately $300,000

The City of Lafayette and Medtronic are committed to public art that represents a broad diversity of artists based on race, color, creed, gender, gender variance, sexual orientation, national origin, age, religion, marital status, political opinion or affiliation, or mental or physical ability

Special Notes: Emerging artists and those with no prior public art experience are encouraged to partner and consult with experienced professionals such as architects, fabricators, and designers. Emerging artists are encouraged to submit any past project examples that highlight their medium, style, and experience.

Alameda County Arts Commission Artist Registry 2021

Alameda County, California

Summary: The Alameda County Arts Commission invites visual artists to submit an application to the new Alameda County Artist Registry, a prequalified list of artists that will be used for upcoming public art opportunities managed by the Alameda County Arts Commission. Public art opportunities will include outdoor and indoor projects with a range of budgets and will be appropriate for artists working in a variety of materials and styles. The Artist Registry will be primarily used to commission visual artists to create new artwork, however, there may be opportunities to purchase or license existing artwork. Artists interested in being considered for public art opportunities with the Alameda County Arts Commission during the next 3 – 4 years should apply. Artists who were accepted into a previous Artist Registry with the County must reapply in order to be considered for public art projects with Alameda County. The new Alameda County Artist Registry will include over 200 artists creating a wide range of artwork.

Budget: Individual artist contracts will generally range from approximately $2,500 to $100,000.

Eligibility Requirements: The Artist Registry is open to professional artists who live, are permanently employed, or rent/own an artist’s studio in one of the following 14 counties: Alameda, Contra Costa, Marin, Napa, Sacramento, Santa Clara, Santa Cruz, San Francisco, San Joaquin, San Mateo, Solano, Sonoma, Stanislaus, and Yolo.

Special Notes: Contracts may be for a single site-specific artwork or may be for a series of smaller artworks (approximately 3-5 artworks). Some projects will be design-only contracts. Other projects may be for the licensing or purchasing of existing artwork. Budget requirements will be outlined when artists are contacted about being placed in a Project Pool

Summary: the City of Sarasota, Florida is seeking a professional artist to create an outdoor landmark sculpture for placement within a roadway roundabout located at the intersection of Fruitville Road and US 41 (N. Tamiami Trail) in downtown Sarasota.

Budget: Not to exceed $175,000

Denver International Airport Concourse Expansion Public Art; Locations A-West, B-West, C-East

Denver, Colorado

Summary: Denver International Airport (DEN) seeks to commission distinctive, site specific, original public artworks for our $1.5B Concourse Expansion Program. Three (3) unique artwork locations have been identified for this Request for Qualification (RFQ) within the newly designed expansion areas; Concourse A-West, Concourse B-West, and Concourse C-East. A separate RFQ will be released for the selection of the Concourse B-East project site as part of the Concourse Expansion Program. Each site will be awarded to a different artist or artist team.

Budget: $800,000.00 – $2,500,000.00 USD per designated art location
