Fire Station #9

Odessa, Texas

Summary: The City of Odessa and Odessa Arts are seeking qualified artists to create stained glass art to be installed in at the entry and West wing of the new fire station located on 87th street in Odessa, TX. This piece will be an addition to the City of Odessa’s public art collection

Budget: $30,000

Eligibility Requirements: This public art commission is open to all professional artists or artist teams with experience in similar projects.

Special Notes: This art should speak to the purpose of the building as a home-away-from-home for Odessa Fire & Rescue, and relate to the theme of fire and light.

Odessa Regional Medical Center – Entrance

Odessa, Texas

Summary: Odessa Regional Medical Center, in partnership with Odessa Arts, invites professional artists or artist teams, to submit qualifications to design and fabricate a significant piece to enhance the entrance to the newly remodeled West Campus of Odessa Regional Medical Center.

Budget: $20,000

Eligibility Requirements: This public art commission is open to all professional artists or artist teams with experience in similar such projects.

Special Notes: The artist should incorporate the theme of Maternity and/or newborns into the artwork. The piece can be created through a kinetic sculpture, stationary sculpture, a sculpture that is abstract or through other means. The art work should be designed to hold-up through the extreme weather conditions of West Texas, including intense sunlight, heat and wind. The piece should be designed to last at least 20 years with minimal maintenance.

Oregon Institute of Technology

Klamath Falls, Oregon

Summary: This is actually 2 separate opportunities for sculptors. One is for site-specific artwork for the building interior. The second is for site-specific artwork for the exterior of the building.

Interior Artwork Budget:
Approximately $70,000 is available for commissioning site-specific interior art, which include artist fees, fabrication, insurance, travel, installation, documentation, and all other project costs.

Exterior Artwork Budget:
Approximately $140,000 is available for commissioning site-specific exterior artwork, which will include artist fees, fabrication, insurance, travel, installation, documentation, and all other project costs.
