There are still a few active Call for Artists in our last post. Click here to see those calls and scroll to the bottom (we do our best to put them in chronological order within each post–but double check as we don’t rearrange them if dates change after we post!)
In this post you will find 10 call for artists of various sizes and varying deadlines.
Creating During Covid
Lafayette, Colorado
Summary: The Lafayette Arts & History Cooperative invites you to participate in a juried post-pandemic art installation, Creating During Covid. When the time comes for our community to gather once more, the Arts & History Cooperative will open their doors for a temporary installation of works created during the Covid-19 closures.

Include the Name of artist, Name of artwork, medium, age (if under 18), dimensions. 1-3 images of your proposed submission, and a brief artist’s statement (200 words max.)
Eligibility Requirements: Preference given to artists living in Lafayette, Colorado
Special Notes: Pieces must have been created after March 12th and be suitable for public spaces.
Selected artist will receive additional information and drop-off instructions.

Venice International Art Fair 2020
Venice, Italy
Summary: Venice International Art Fair provides artists and exhibitors with the unique opportunity to present their works to an international audience of professionals as curators, gallerists, collectors, editors and publishers who seek to acquire, publish and encourage the best contemporary art talents.
Venice International Art Fair 2020 analyzes the relationship between body and space, and the hybridization between identities and cultural/physical/social/urban settings in contemporary time, through two main sections: LIQUID ROOMS and FUTURE LANDSCAPES.

2020-2021 Pre-Qualified Artist Pool,
Tampa, FL
Summary: The City of Tampa Division of Arts & Cultural Affairs invites artists and artist-led teams residing in the Florida to submit qualifications for potential inclusion the 2020-2021 Pre-Qualified Artist Pool. The purpose of the Pool is to commission more regional artists for local projects such as Mayor Castor’s Art on the Block Program, and to integrate more artwork and artistic elements into citywide infrastructure.

Sculpture on the Lawn 2020-2021
Orlando, FL
Summary: Call to Artists for Sculpture on the Lawn 2020 Orange County Accepting Proposals through June 22nd For its Annual Outdoor Sculpture Exhibition
Budget: Each artist will be awarded $3,500 as a fee for the annual loan of his or her artwork and to help offset any necessary transportation, installation and housing costs.

Eligibility Requirements: Sculpture on the Lawn is open to experienced professional sculptors as well as students and emerging artists who specialize in the design, construction and installation of outdoor sculptures.
Special Notes: Up to four sculptures will be selected for display from October 2020 to September 2021. One of the sculptures will be selected from a student or emerging artist, if suitable.
Orange County provides 12-by-12-foot concrete pads. Sculptures must be firmly secured to the pads.
There is a 6-foot minimum height preference. The sky is the limit for the maximum height.

High Line Canal Underpass @ Mississippi & Parker Rd
Denver, Colorado
Summary: The City of Denver’s Public Art Program seeks to commission an artist or artist team working with sound and/or light for the High Line Canal Underpass at South Parker Road and East Mississippi Avenue in the Washington Virginia Vale Neighborhood in Denver. Construction on the underpass is slated for completion in the fall of 2021.
Budget: $50,000

Eligibility Requirements: This project is open to artists who currently live and work in the State of Colorado regardless of race, color, creed, gender, gender variance, sexual orientation, national origin, age, religion, marital status, political opinion or affiliation, or mental or physical disability. The selection panel is interested in artists who can demonstrate an understanding sound or light art, the area’s residents, history and surrounding neighborhood.
Special Notes: The selection panel is open to sound and/or light artwork suitable for an outdoor environment. Artwork must be durable and able to withstand human touch, and meet all ADA regulations. Artists are asked to be mindful and respectful of the underpass’s functionality and accessibility for pedestrians and cyclists.

VISION Tulsa Air National Guard
Tulsa, OK
Summary: The City of Tulsa is accepting submissions from professional artists or teams of artists in response to a significant public art opportunity relating to the City’s recent investments at the Mission Training Center near Tulsa International Airport.
This Call to Artists seeks to identify artist teams or artists capable of designing, fabricating, and installing a sculptural installation commemorating the Oklahoma Air National Guard, its 138th Fighter Wing, and Technical Sergeant Marshal (Moo) Dakota Roberts, who “…died in combat on Wednesday, March 11, 2020 while deployed in support of Operation Inherent Resolve in Iraq.”
Budget: $50,000

Eligibility Requirements: The project is open to all professional artists, designers, or firms, age 18 and over, regardless of residence, race, color, religion, national origin, gender, military status, sexual orientation, marital status, or physical or mental ability.
Special Notes: Concepts should include a hardscaped base on which the installation can lie.

Fire Station 33
Tulsa, OK
Summary:
The City of Tulsa is accepting submissions from professional artists or teams of artists in response to a significant public art opportunity relating to the City’s recent investments for the new Fire Station 33, to be constructed at 4109 S 134th Ave E.
This call seeks to identify artist teams or artists capable of designing, fabricating, and installing a sculptural piece: EITHER mounted to an exterior wall or placed immediately in front of the outlined location.
Budget: $35,000
Deadline: 6/23/20

Eligibility Requirements: The project is open to all professional artists, designers, or firms, age 18 and over, regardless of residence, race, color, religion, national origin, gender, military status, sexual orientation, marital status, or physical or mental ability.
Special Notes: The installation should serve as a photo opportunity for fire station visitors and passersby. The installation should also portray the fire service and firefighters as an institution and people dedicated to the safety and service of all community members.

Georgian Acres Neighborhood Park
Austin, TX
Summary: The City of Austin / Art in Public Places (AIPP) is contracting an artist to create a permanent, exterior artwork for Georgian Acres Neighborhood Park.
Budget: $34,000

Eligibility Requirements: 18+ years old, professional artist who lives in 7-county Austin metropolitan area (Williamson, Travis, Bastrop, Caldwell, Hays, Burnet, and Blanco counties).
Special Notes: Artists familiar with the Georgian Acres community and/or who are intimately connected to the history and heritage of the area are highly encouraged to apply.
· Multilingual artists and/or artists able to interact with the community in languages other than English are also encouraged to apply.

Art on Loan Silver Box Project 2020
Sandpoint, Idaho
Summary: The City of Sandpoint invites artists to apply for the Silver Box Project, an art on loan program. Three sculptures will be selected by jury process for an approximately one-year loan. The artwork will be mounted on stainless steel bases located in Downtown Sandpoint and promoted through various media.
Budget: Selected artwork/artists will receive a $1000 honorarium for temporary display of their work.

Eligibility Requirements: The project is open to all artists residing in the United States regardless of race, color, religion, national origin, gender, age, marital status, sexual preference, gender identity or physical or mental disability. Local and Regional artists may be given preference.

Sculpture Salmagundi XXIV
Rocky Mount, NC
Summary: SALMAGUNDI Meaning a heterogeneous mixture or potpourri, this exhibit brings together a wide variety of artists, materials, and ideas. This national outdoor sculpture competition is sponsored by the City of Rocky Mount through the Imperial Centre for the Arts & Sciences. The primary purpose of Salmagundi is to recognize and promote excellence in public art and sculpture while encouraging people to explore Downtown Rocky Mount, the Parks, and the Imperial Centre.

Eligibility Requirements: Work must be original, executed within the past three years, and not previously exhibited at The Maria V. Howard Arts Center. Any artist 18 years of age or older, living and working in the U.S. is eligible to enter.
Special Notes: The Arts Center will retain a 40% commission on works sold. Works listed not for sale (NFS) must have an insurance value for Arts Center records.
