Art on the Move (AOTM) 2021-2022 – 3D

Longmont, Colorado

Summary: Citizens and visitors appreciate Art on the Move because it provides an opportunity to view and experience a variety of new pieces each year. AIPP enjoys Art on the Move because it introduces dynamic artists to Longmont each year!

Artwork must be durable and able to withstand all weather conditions and indoor work must be tolerant to natural light and interaction with the public. All media will be considered; however, all work submitted for review must adhere to available space criteria.

Budget: Select artists will receive a stipend of $1,000 per piece

Deadline: May 1, 2021

Eligibility Requirements: Regional artists are invited to submit up to three different pieces to be considered for AOTM.

Landmark Public Artwork at Providence Innovation District Park

Providence, Rhode Island

Summary: The City of Providence Department of Art, Culture + Tourism and Art in City Life Commission invite artists to submit qualifications for a Landmark Public Artwork in the City’s new Providence Innovation District Park. This inaugural, large-scale, signature, permanent work of art will be the first of its kind in the City and is the first activation of Providence’s Art in City Life Ordinance, also known as a percent for art allocation. Successful proposals will grapple with the historic complexity of the site.

Eligibility Requirements: This call for qualifications is open to professional artists within the United States. Black, Indigenous, People of Color, women, gender nonconforming persons, LGBTQIA+ community members and people with differing physical abilities are highly encouraged to apply. Artists living across Rhode Island are highly encouraged to apply.

Special Notes: An Art Selection Panel will review complete applications and score the submitted qualifications and select no more than three artists as finalists. Finalists will be contracted to complete a design proposal at a flat rate of $6500.00.

First City Public Sculpture Exhibition 2021

Vincennes, Indiana

Summary: The Public Art Project presents an opportunity for sculptors from across the nation to submit up to two (2) entries to the First City Public Sculpture Exhibition of large-scale public sculpture to be installed in the City of Vincennes. Sculptures will be on loan for a period of three years, at the end of which time they will be picked up by the artists and new works will be rotated in. 

Budget: Artists will receive an honorarium totaling One Thousand Six Hundred Dollars and Fifty Dollars ($1,650.00) to help defray costs of transportation and installation.

Rutgers University Newark Life Sciences Center

Newark, New Jersey 

Summary: Rutgers University – Newark is soliciting Expressions of Interest (EOI) from prospective artists to design, fabricate and install artwork for the Life Sciences Center II project at Rutgers University – Newark Campus in Newark, New Jersey. The proposed artwork for the new building is part of the New Jersey Arts Inclusion Program and is coordinated by the New Jersey State Council on the Arts and Rutgers University Planning, Design and Development department within Institutional Planning and Operations.

Budget: $13,500.00

Eligibility Requirements: This project is open to artists/artist teams who are at least 18 years of age, and legally able to enter a contract with Rutgers University. Artists must have verifiable experience undertaking a contract for public art with a budget of at least $10,000. Artists (individuals or all team members) must live or maintain a permanent art studio in the city of Newark, NJ; and must be current residents of the State of New Jersey.

Special Notes: The Art Selection committee envisions a mural or other surface enhancement that draws upon thematic material related to the respective Sciences housed in the facility. The materials used must be durable, low maintenance, resistant to vandalism and coordinate well with the material palette of the building and the exterior plaza

Sculpture on the Lawn 2022

Orlando, Florida

Summary: Artists are invited to submit work – existing or conceptual – for the annual Sculpture on the Lawn exhibition, an outdoor display featured at the entrance to the Orange County Administration Center (201 S. Rosalind Ave.) in the heart of downtown Orlando, Florida, where the works are visible to approximately 10,000 people daily.

Orange County provides 12-by-12-foot concrete pads. Sculptures must be firmly secured to the pads. There is a 6-foot minimum height preference. The sky is the limit for the maximum height.

Potomac Yard Metrorail Station Public Art Project

Alexandria, Virginia

Summary: AIT is working with the City of Alexandria Public Art Program to organize and facilitate an Art Selection Panel to select site-specific public artworks following the principles of Biophilic Design for the future Potomac Yard Metrorail Station on the Yellow and Blue Lines. The selected artworks will be the first in a US Transit system to introduce biophilic elements and provide credit towards LEED Transit accreditation of a Metrorail station.

As part of this RFQ, artists are invited to address our inherent need to experience and connect with nature by creating public artworks that provide visual access to and experience of natural features and processes, take into consideration local and regional themes such as the location of the station adjacent to the natural and cultural resources of the George Washington Memorial Parkway (GWMP), which is a unit of the National Park System.

West Texas Food Bank Innovation Garden

Midland, Texas

Summary: West Texas Food Bank in conjunction with Odessa Arts & Abell-Hanger Foundation, Warren Charitable Foundation, Don Bennett & family, Concho, Ovintiv,, FMH Foundation, H-E-B, Occidental, PDC Energy, Scharbauer Foundation, XTO Energy Mike Black & Lea Crump, invite professional artists or artist teams to submit qualifications to design and complete one prominent and several smaller sculptures at the new WTFB Innovative Gardens in Midland, TX

The West Texas Food Bank’s Innovative Garden houses a classroom, two geodesic domes, and various water and vegetation features. WTFB is looking for artworks that are whimsical, and relate to the outdoor space. Themes of wildlife, and vegetation are encouraged, as are vibrant colors. The art should speak to the term ‘Innovation.’ The gardens are fairly large and provide ample space for multiple pieces that relate to one another.

Budget: $100,000

Eligibility Requirements: This public art commission is open to all professional artists or artist teams with experience in similar projects.

Special Notes: Art in The Innovative Garden should be bright, innovative, whimsical. Art should encourage visitors to stroll and discover. The Selection Committee seeks works by professional artists to enhance the look and feel of the Innovative Gardens in Midland. The work should speak to the idea of sustainability in food production, and distribution.

LASED Inglewood Artist Registry

Inglewood, California

Summary: An Inglewood Artist and Non-Profit Arts Organization Registry is being established as a resource for the Los Angeles Stadium and Entertainment District (LASED) for ongoing temporary and permanent artworks, cultural programming and site activation over the next ten years. The purpose is for LASED to connect with the creative people who live, work, or maintain a studio in Inglewood.

Summary: BARCELONA CONTEMPORARY is a contemporary art fair that presents collective and solo projects by leading and emerging international artists. The 2nd edition will represent a forum for direct exchange of ideas and contacts between collectors, artists, photographers, designers and art professionals. The art fair features paintings, sculptures, photography art, installations, video art and live performance.
