Public Art: Carpenter Recreation Center Atrium
Thornton, CO
Summary: The Thornton Arts, Sciences and Humanities Council (TASHCO), in collaboration with the city of Thornton, are seeking to commission large-scale, original public art. This work will be installed in the atrium of the Margaret W. Carpenter Recreation Center, located at 11151 Colorado Boulevard, 80233. This project will produce public art work that will speak to the location, have a positive visual impact and welcome visitors to the facility. The final work should help push Thornton into a contemporary setting and help it become a destination-city; engaged in important conversations on art and culture.

Fairgrounds Projects Open Call to Artists, Spring 2020

Summary: Fairgrounds, a South St. Pete based immersive arts destination, has released a call to artists, artisans, creatives or artist-led teams who live and work in the state of Florida. Fairgrounds seeks to commission multiple artists, creatives, and makers to contribute to its inaugural exhibition.

37th Street Bridge
Loveland, CO
Summary: The City of Loveland Art in Public Places is accepting Requests for Qualifications for artwork installations along 37th Street between North Lincoln Street and Monroe.
The pedestrian walkway and railing on the each side of the bridge are possible locations for public art. The bridge will have vehicle traffic and feature sidewalks and bike lanes (on both sides). Additionally, artwork may be attached to the top of the pillars and 1” recesses along the length of the bridge. Construction will be completed in June 2020. Surface length: 90’each side; 180’ total.

37th Street Roundabout
Loveland, CO
Summary: 37th Street Roundabout: This 110’ diameter, single-lane roundabout was completed in fall 2019 and will be available for sculpture installation by late spring 2020. The location is at the intersection of Monroe Street and 37th Street in northeast Loveland.
The Commission is requesting qualifications and professional samples of past public artworks in order to be considered for this project.

Intermodal Transit Center Sculpture Garden
Moscow, Idaho
Summary: The City of Moscow invites artists to submit three-dimensional artworks for the Intermodal Transit Center Sculpture Garden. The Intermodal Transit Center (ITC) was built by the City of Moscow in 2012. A one-stop concept for transportation in the community, the ITC provides access for taxis, vanpools and carpools, and expands pedestrian and bicyclist access to Paradise Path.
Budget: Each selected artist will receive an honorarium of $200 for the loan of the artwork, which will remain on display until May 2021

Public Art: Peace Wall Re-imagined

Summary: The Thornton Arts, Sciences and Humanities Council (TASHCO) in, collaboration with the city of Thornton, are seeking to commission artwork to revitalize and preserve remaining tiles on Thornton’s Peace Wall. This will be achieved by incorporating existing Peace Wall tiles into 4 new wall-hanging works. These works will be installed in 4 municipal buildings throughout Thornton. The project will produce public art work that honors the history of the Peace Wall while reinterpreting it for current and future residents of Thornton.
Budget: $12,000

Special Notes: Since its 2003 installation the Peace Wall has undergone damage due to Colorado’s extreme weather. The 2020 Peace Wall project will commission an artist to remove the current tiles from their original location and re-imagine them into unique works that can be enjoyed by residents in all city wards. Phase I of this project will preserve the existing tiles and give this community art piece new life. Phase II of this project will work to re-imagine and re-activate the physical space. Phase II will be initiated at a future date.

Public Art: Pollinator Habitats
Thornton, CO
Summary: The Thornton Arts, Sciences and Humanities Council (TASHCO), in collaboration with the city of Thornton are seeking to commission public art in the form of four pollinator habitats, structures or spaces that provide shelter for a specific pollinator species.
These habitats will be installed in pollinator gardens located in each city ward. The selected artist will research, design, build and install species-specific habitats. The city of Thornton’s Parks and Open Space Divisions will work with the selected artist to identify native species of plants that support the design of each pollinator habitat. Staff will select, plants and maintain the space in the pollinator garden surrounding each habitat.

Summary: The City of Frisco will convert the previous Senior Center into the new Municipal Court and is seeking an artist to create a public art project that will hang from the ceiling in the lobby. Artists are encouraged to consider law, democracy, and the history of Frisco and/or Texas as themes.
