Sacramento Public Art Project Seeks Sculptor

Matsui Waterfront Park Public Art Call for Entries
Summary: The Sacramento Metropolitan Arts Commission invites artists and artist teams with experience in the design, fabrication and installation of artwork in the public realm. Matsui Waterfront Park is about 6.5 acres. It is bordered by the Sacramento River, Parkway bicycle trail, and by Interstate 5. The bike trail provides access to Discovery Park, Old Town Sacramento, the Crocker Art Museum, the California State Railroad Museum and more…
The park is the future home of the Powerhouse Science Center. The PSC will provide the opportunity for hands-on learning for visitors of all ages in a variety of fields.
Budget: $234,686

Special Notes: An artist selection panel with select 2 or more artists to be interviewed. The final design will have to be approved by the Sacramento Metropolitan Arts Commission and the contract must be approved by the City Council because it is more than $100,000.
