Stanley Hotel Seeks Sculpture

The iconic Stanley Hotel, located in beautiful Estes Park, Colorado is seeking a sculptor to create a work that will be the focal point of their newly completed hedge maze. This will be a permanent installation.
The maze was completed this year and is an incredible 10,000 feet. Inspired by the movie “The Shining” there is prime location for a sculpture on a 4 foot base.
The Stanley Hotel, known for its architecture, magnificent setting, and famous visitors, may possibly be best known today for its inspirational role in the Stephen King’s novel, “The Shining.” The Stanley Hotel continues to “shine” today, as it did in 1909 when first opened.
This sculpture call is open to all residents in the continental US. There are no restrictions on the sculpture concept other than “the artistic style and appropriateness must be complimentary of the community and The Stanley Hotel property.”
We’re guessing that means no giant knives will be considered.
The budget for this commission is $50,000.
