PROJECT SUMMARY
The City of Commerce City and the Commerce City Cultural Council seek to commission public art for the highly visible and active Pioneer Park located at 5950 Holly Street. This is the city’s largest and most feature filled park, including state of the art aquatics facilities, baseball/softball fields and a skate park. Located at the corner of Holly Street and East 60th Avenue, thousands of people drive past Pioneer Park and hundreds use the park’s amenities daily. This 37-acre community park was built in three phases from 2003 to 2015.

The Art Selection Committee is interested in one or a series of sculptures that will be situated along the meandering path on the north side of the park along East 60th Avenue between Monaco Street to the east and Holly Street to the west, and to the south of the path in the grassy areas and to the north of the ball fields. The potential project area is indicated in the picture below with a red rectangle. The art may be interactive and/or kinetic, encouraging people to approach and engage with the art.
